What is a Gay Certificate?

The Gay Certificate is an officially formatted certification affirming that the named holder meets the established criteria for certified status. Issued upon assessment, each Gay Certificate bears a registry number, date of issuance, and the seal of the issuing office.

Certification is individual, non-transferable, and recorded in perpetuity within the National Registry of Certified Individuals. Applications may be submitted by the applicant or by an authorized representative on behalf of the named individual.

The Gay Certificate program accepts applications from all fifty states, territories, and over 160 recognized countries.

Registry Notice No. PR-2026-001

This notice announces the establishment of the National Gay Certificate Registry and the commencement of certification operations effective August 1, 2026, pursuant to Registry Standard PR-2026. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis following the date of registry opening. All certificates issued under this program are individually assigned a permanent registry number and entered into the public record.

Eligibility

Certification Requirements

Applicants are assessed against standardized requirements in accordance with Registry Standard PR-2026. The following provisions apply to all applications:

  1. § 1.1

    The named individual must be 18 years of age or older at the time of filing.

  2. § 1.2

    Provision of the named individual's legal name and country of residence.

  3. § 1.3

    Payment of the applicable certification and processing fee.

  4. § 2.1

    The named individual must not have an active disqualification on record at the time of filing.

  5. § 2.2

    The submitting party certifies that all information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
